Using the Retail Pharmacy Program
If you choose a network retail pharmacy:
- First ask your doctor to write a prescription for up to a 30-day supply.
- Take your prescription to a a CVS Caremark National Network Retail Pharmacy.
- Present your NALC Identification card.
- Verify that the pharmacist has accurate information about you and your covered dependents.
- Pay the appropriate coinsurance.
- Specialty & prior authorization: Call 800-294-5979 for prior authorization, or call 800-237-2767 for specialty if your provider prescribes a medication not on the formulary.
Using the Mail Order Program
1. For new maintenance medications, ask your doctor to write two prescriptions:
- One, for up to a 90-day supply plus refills, to be ordered through the Mail Order Program or our Maintenance Choice Program.
- The other, for no more than a 30-day supply plus one refill, to be filled immediately at a CVS Caremark National Network Pharmacy while you wait for your order from the Mail Order Program.
2. Complete the patient profile/order form. Enclose your original prescription(s) and the appropriate payment for each drug being ordered and mail to:

- Your payment is payable by check, money order or credit card. For credit card payments, simply include your Visa, Discover, MasterCard, or American Express number and expiration date in the space provided on the patient profile/order form.

SilverScript Prescription Drug Plan (PDP)
For Medicare-Eligible Annuitants
If you’re enrolled in Medicare and covered under the NALC Health Benefit Plan—you will receive enhanced prescription coverage through the SilverScript® Prescription Drug Plan (PDP)—an Employer Group Waiver Plan (EGWP).
This Plan combines a Medicare Part D drug list with your current year’s prescription coverage. This makes sure you pay the lowest cost available for your prescriptions. If you have questions, call SilverScript at 833-272-9886. They are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
HealthEquity Medicare Part B Reimbursement for Postal Annuitants
Eligible High Option annuitants and family members enrolled in SilverScript PDP with Original Medicare Parts A & B can receive up to $600 per year in reimbursements through HealthEquity®.
How to Get Your Reimbursement
To get your money back, you'll need to show proof of your Original Medicare Part B premium payments. You can do this through:
