Your NALC Health Benefit Plan under the PSHB Program provides comprehensive medical, pharmacy, and preventive care—meeting all Affordable Care Act standards. It includes coverage for doctor visits, hospital care, prescriptions, and preventive services at no cost when using in-network providers.
Yes. You can change plans if you experience a Qualifying Life Event, such as marriage, divorce, or the birth or adoption of a child.
Yes. Your NALC Health Benefit Plan provides worldwide coverage. You can see any licensed provider for emergency or urgent care, pay the bill, and then submit a Member Medical Claim Form with your receipts for reimbursement. Keep copies of your records and use U.S. dollars when possible to speed up processing.
Temporary Continuation of Coverage (TCC) lets you keep your NALC Health Benefit Plan coverage for up to 18 months after your regular coverage ends — for example, after leaving employment or when a dependent loses eligibility. To apply, contact your employing agency’s HR office within 60 days of losing coverage. You’ll receive details on premiums, payment options, and how to continue benefits without a gap.
